Arius

There was never a specific movement or sect founded by Arius, and that the existence of an alternative tradition is obscured by a misleading and inappropriate term. This same conclusion was reached by Rowan Williams (the present Archbishop of Canterbury) by examining what was written by Arius and what was written by many others at about the same time AND EARLIER. Note that his evidence and argument is different to yours, but the conclusion is the same. His conceptual framework is necessarily different to yours, but not as much as might have been expected. For example, he has used the Acts of Archelaus, which hardly anyone else has even read. He is familiar with the concepts of Jesus as an angel or the first angel, and the concept of Jacob-Israel with the same angelic status. He is familiar with the Rabbinic evidence, even if it is at second hand. He certainly knows and uses the Pseudepigrapha.

I thought you might be gratified by this corroboration from different evidence. You see that your instincts are sound. Mind you, the instincts come from long hard work.
