Boid on the Suggestion that Simon Magus might have been Simon Peter
It could easily refer to him. But there remains the evidence for a second person by this name that was a Samaritan. Besides, it seems to me that the accounts we have of some Simon that could be Peter are different in important respects to the accounts of the Samaritan Simon, even though they have traits in common.
