Josephus' Report of the Samaritan Massacre 37 CE

Josephus has the bit about the massacre of Samaritans in a list of scattered and unrelated data that he doesn’t fully understand, can’t date, or can’t fit into his plan of composition, and which are listed one after the other at the end of a major section. There is no connection by date or subject between them. Have another look. You will see that at some stage, the scribes have changed the words “the Mosaic vessels hidden there” or “the vessels made by Moses that were hidden there” into “the vessels hidden there by Moses”.
