The Copts have a peculiar way of saying 'Jesus Christ' it seems. If you look carefully at the English rendering of the coptic letters it looks an awfully lot like Chrestos instead of Christos (not to mention the particularly Marcionite form of Jesus i.e. Esu but I will let you all be the judges).
Of course all of this requires further investigation but their hymn sung on Pentecost O my Lord Jesus Christ is rendered:
Pa-shois Esos Pikhrestos
Pi’apostolos = The Apostle = Shaliah. (Shaliaḥ shin-lamed-yod-h.et) . Pi’eu’angelistos would mean The Evangelist = Mevasser.
Hmmmm. Seems like Marcionitism maybe just filtered into Coptic Christianity.
