The Coptic Tradition Says that the Disciples Saw Christ Enthroned at the Transfiguration

Since Peter when he saw only the smallest portion of the light of the glory thereof said, 'it is good for us to remain in this place,' what shall happen unto us when we shall look at the fullness of that glory? If we ascribe blessings to those who are nigh unto a king in this world, when we see him advancing upon a chariot of gold, and wearing a crown and apparel of purple, then how greatly blessed shall we be when we are placed on the right hand of the King of All, the judge of ever man. [Traditional Coptic Hymn]

Note - the traditional title of the Coptic Pope, bishop of Alexandria is 'Judge of the World (Ecumene).
