It ALL Makes Sense Now
Isn't there someone else out there that studies early Christianity that has even a small understanding of the ancient practices of Judaism AND THEIR MYSTICAL SIGNIFICANCE.
I doubt it.
Whatever the case by reading LGM 1 as the paradigm for the new Christian circumcision - i.e. castration - the very ritual which transformed Jacob into 'Israel' - everything is now obvious to me.
The reason the Marcosians connected 'redemption' to Mark x.38 (the narrative which immediately follows LGM 1) is because it was connected to the Pidyon Haben, the redemption of the firstborn. This means that 'the redemption' in the gospel must have taken place thirty days after LGM 1.
The traditional chair of Elijah must have been connected with the Episcopal throne of St. Mark in Alexandria.
I could go on and on but if the reader can wait I will continue to spell it all out over the weekend. Got to go!
