The Monastic Life As "Second Baptism"

Happen to be at Target but a quick Google search reveals the decision to enter monastic life was always connected with the "second baptism" concept forbidden in the third century. Should we imagine that at one time there really was "another baptism" and "another baptism narrative" in the gospel which served as the monastic model? I think so ...
