My Argument on Behalf of the Alexandrian Gospel of Mark Mentioned in Quis Dives Salvetur Necessarily Resembling the Diatessaron Has Been Delayed ...

But the delay has nothing to do with the correctness of the argument. I have been very busy at my day job. These posts are VERY taxing. They are generally written from scratch and require a great deal of concentration. They are usually done while my wife is watching Chopped or Iron Chef (you know those cooking shows where they put up 30 minutes on the clock and make the contestants use four 'mystery ingredients' that are very challenging to put together into an agreeable dish).

I think my blog has evolved into that kind of a contest only with regards to early Christianity and related traditions.

It sometimes feels like I like putting challenges for myself - i.e. to put together the Stromateis, Marqe the Samaritan, the concept of metempsychosis and ... a rutabaga - all within certain 'temporal units' in my life (my wife telling me to get off the computer, my son demanding that I take him to the toy store, my avoiding doing certain tasks at work and having everything blow up in my face).

The only difference is that there is no prize at the end of this challenge, except of course the quest for truth.

That's not entirely true. There are some unsung benefits to having this blog. I have met and befriended a lot of exceptionally smart people who I would never otherwise have encountered in my line of work.

I could do a whole blog on what is like to deal with not-so-smart people but who would read it?

Actually it would probably attract a hirer readership than this blog, now that I think about it ...
