Lessons From Mar Saba

When all the dust settles on the Mar Saba controversy it will end up being an indictment of the humanities. There is more than enough blame to go around. My personal belief is that religion and theology has no place in the university system. It is impossible to be objective about God and religion. The world won't end if in North America at least it remains the exclusive domain of universities and seminaries affiliated with a particular religious institution.
