Wow! You could write a book about your family! ... Are you kidding... You've got multi-generational interest... from Hermann to Georg to Margarete and Yvonne to Edgar... and proof that the Swiss were not as "neutral" as they like to think... and how people could slip through the cracks of "not our problem" and no one really cared. Deep human interest story...
I am flattered but no one in my family ever thought it was so interest. Sort of depressing to be honest. But don't listen to me. Listen to Gigi and follow at the other blog.
I knew always knew I came from a mentally challenged family by the way my mom always qualified her remembrance of the past. When I was 16 the Canadian government had this census and this other mother down the street was organizing it and gave me a job as a census taker. She was Swiss and she wanted to be friends with my mom. My mom wanted nothing to do with her. HATED the Swiss more than the Germans, more than Nazis. I always thought that was weird. She could marry a German but Swiss. Really, really hated the Swiss.
