The Good Samaritan is Coming ...

Benyamin Tsedaka, one of the last living members of the elusive Samaritan sect (think Foti the Samaritan woman John 4, the [Good] Samaritan) is coming to Washington State (the place I live) December 13 - 16, 2009. This is only part of a greater tour of North America and Europe, and forms part of his annual effort to enlighten people to the other, older, more authentic tradition of Moses.

I will interview Benny for this blog and want to field any questions that my regular readers might have about the Samaritan interpretation of the Torah or - more importantly the link between Mark (Marqe) the son of Tite (Titus) the late first century/early second century reformer of the modern Samaritan religion and Marcus Julius Agrippa (he actually edited the chapter on the Samaritan connection in my book).

I am sure many of you aren't completely convinced about my interpretation. Here is a real live Samaritan to give you direct information on what I reported in the Real Messiah.

Benny also has a book (in Hebrew) on the teachings of Marqe which he wants to sell as well as an English translation of all the passages in the Pentateuch where the Samaritan text preserves the original reading.

Pay special attention to this unique event in December. Look forward to fielding your questions to this living witness to the three thousand year old original tradition of Moses (minus all the false prophets)...

UPDATE I offered to fly Benny - a representative of a living tradition - to the SBL conference to sit with other Bibliobloggers but it was not to be ...
