Hit the Jackpot
I am at Toys R Us with my copy of Pistis Sophia and I see that in Book 2 Jesus cites a variant gospel with Luke xii.50 sandwiched between material from other gospels and Jesus acknowledges that he came to establish a gnostic baptism ritual which would shake the world.
Sorry folks, this CAN'T be the "John the Baptist baptism" which after all existed long before Jesus and was only for repentance.
The implication of the passage are that the author of Pistis Sophia either knew of LGM 1 (the first addition to the Gospel of Mark cited from to Theodore) as a baptism ritual OR another UNKNOWN additional narrative to the canonical gospels we haven't discovered yet.
I think we've almost crossed the crossed the finish line folks. We've almost proved beyond a shadow of a doubt from all the evidence we've presented that the ancient Christian traditions knew of LGM 1 or an addition to the gospels JUST LIKE IT.
More when I get home ...
