
Clement of Alexandria writes "thirty, or as in some, twelve, they say points out the preaching [of the Gospel]; because the Lord preached in His thirtieth year; and the apostles were twelve." [Stromata vi.11]
"The three hundred and sixty (i.e. 30 x 12) bells, suspended from the robe, is the space of a year, “the acceptable year of the Lord,” proclaiming and resounding the stupendous manifestation of the Saviour." [ibid v.6]
