I Think I 'Unwrapped' the Origin of the Name 'Cerinthus' But I Have to Check With a Latin Expert ...

I must have tried to solve this puzzle for the last twenty years. I ALWAYS apply Aramaic word formations to puzzling names of the heretics in the Church Fathers. This time I think I was wrong. I think the name has its root in Latin but I want to check with someone with more expertise than I. This could be quite exciting ...
