Another Reason For Accepting the Secret Mark's Authenticity

In a previous post we determined that today (10 Nisan) was LGM 1 day - i.e. the day on which the youth of Mark 10:17 - 31 was raised from the dead and brought into the initiations of redemption in the Secret Gospel of Mark. The closing words of this section of Mark reference a crossing of the Jordan river:

And after six days Jesus told him what to do, and in the evening the youth comes to him, wearing a linen cloth over his naked body. And he remained with him that night, for Jesus taught him the mystery of the Kingdom of God. And thence, arising, he returned to the other side of the Jordan." (to Theod 3.10,11)

Interestingly Jewish and Samaritan tradition agree that 10 Nisan was the day the ancient Israelites crossed the Jordan and entered the Promised Land:

On the tenth day of the first month the people went up from the Jordan and camped at Gilgal on the eastern border of Jericho (Josh 4:9)

Got to put the kids to bed, but think about that for a while ...
