Require Free Access Over the Internet to Scientific Journal Articles

This is something we should all get behind. This internet petition wants to require free access over the Internet to scientific journal articles arising from taxpayer-funded research. We've all paid for this research already through our taxes once. Then the academic journals force academic libraries to pay ridiculous fees to allow us to access the information. Indeed most of us - including me - can't access any of these articles from our computers. It's ridiculous and they are only about 8,000 signatures away from their goal. Please look at this.
